Based in Pullar House you will work within the Housing Systems Team supporting housing management systems across Housing and Environmental Services. Some travel between PKC sites may be required.
The work is varied, you will be required to provide day-to-day first line support to system users, and manage our Help Desk. You will perform systems administration tasks, supporting and maintaining various systems including Northgate Housing. You will be responsible for ensuring that users have appropriate network and systems access, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures, you will ensure that changes are documented and fully auditable. You will have involvement in longer term change, transformation and upgrade projects in a supporting role. Training provision to system users, procurement and financial recording is also part of the job.
We are looking for an effective team player who has good attention to detail and relishes the challenge of problem solving on a daily basis. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation are key to delivering in this role. You will be expected to effectively translate operational and practice requirements into technical solutions. You will demonstrate a high quality customer focussed approach.
An awareness of the local Perth & Kinross Council Housing environment and knowledge of a specific business area would be desirable. An understanding of the current Housing environment in Scotland in general would also be useful. You must be proficient in the use of information technology applications with effective organisational and communication skills. SVQ2 or equivalent in a relevant subject is required. The role has technical aspects; skills and knowledge of Northgate Housing, Information @ Work and Business Objects are desirable, however an aptitude and desire to learn these skills is more important. The ability to work to deadlines within a busy working environment is important.
