We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person with a technological mindset and a thirst for knowledge to fill a vacancy within the IT Business Services Team. The primary roles will be to provide end user support in a large, complex networked IT environment and information systems support for the Council's key applications. The successful candidate will be able use their own initiative have an eye for detail and be able to work to established standards and IT industry good practice.
Experience and skills in some of the following would be advantageous - Supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and devices, process mapping, administration of large application systems, supplier management.

To deliver first and second line IT support services to a wide range of Council and partner IT users to maximise the number of issues resolved at the first point of contact, in accordance with Council policies, standards and procedures with a commitment to achieve best value.

Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
This post involves accessing the public services network, therefore the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS). The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
